    Hi all!
    I will be creating a new section on the website for "the most helpful messageboard posts".

    If you find a particular post helped you in your education, understanding or coping please post the link below here and give us your thoughts on why it was so helpful!

    Please feel free to recommend any post, new or old... from a moderator or a newbie... on myectomy, devices, medication, genetics or lifestyle issues. YOU let US know what helped you the most!

    YOU can make a difference - all you have to do is try!

    Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
    lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
    Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
    Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
    Currently not obstructed
    Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)

    This is great Lisa. Can I make a recommendation now? If so, I would recommend the Thread started by Ipecac which I believe he called the Myectomy Preop Checklist. This was a preparation list or "to do" list for anyone having a myectomy.

    Myectomy with resected cordonae tendonae 4/08 CCF
    ICD 10/08

              I'm reading old posts to learn all that I can. I found this post very helpful:

              At least 5 years of symptoms.
              07/24/14: Age 45, diagnosed with HCM w/ obstruction.
              09/30/14: Tested at Cleveland Clinic (Ohio).
              January 2015: Approved for surgery.
              03/05/15: Pending myectomy & possible mitral valve replacement at Cleveland Clinic
