Does anyone know of a web site such as our HCM that is for perspective heart transplant? I could sure use one as I wait for this. Somedays, I feel like backing out and living my life how I want without any intervention with surgery. Thanks.

Dear Midge,
the U of Iowa has an in person one: http://www.uihealthcare.com/events/c...ortgroups.html
With the new message board, we will have different sections for different topics, so I suspect one will be for transplants.
I poked around the web a bit and I didn't find anything better than here. Honestly, Yahoo Groups didn't have any (well, they list stuff under heart transplant but it is all individuals like status.com or a specific center hosting one for their patients only).
The one I did find had no traffic at all. I think you will find more support here and there are a few others that need transplants that post here. Also, you will find that some people prefer to e-mail you directly instead of posting.
Hang in there. Don't try to think too far ahead. Just take care of the next ten minutes. Then you can worry about the next ten when you get there.
big hug,
Sarah

Midge,
I didn't find any bulletin boards per se, but I do have the following sites which may be helpful to you. The first NIH site lists many links to other sites and the second CHF site has a little section on transplants.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/h...lantation.html
http://www.chfpatients.com/
Best of luck to you. I am hoping to get on the list in January.
Take care. Matt
