    [Holiday greetings for all!]

    Author: Lisa Salberg (---.dyn.optonline.net)

    Date: 12-22-02 13:57

To all of our HCM family,

I wish to send my warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year. For some of us the holidays bring memories of those who are no longer with us, many due to HCM, others not. For some of you it may be the first Christmas without your loved one, many of them were far too young to be lost. Our hearts will be with you all and our thought will be with you hoping that you will carry the memories of your loved ones in your heart yet still remember to smile with those around you.

Some of you had major surgeries/procedures this year and can now move forward, some may have some surgeries still ahead and must maintain that positive attitude that will help to carry you through the next step of your journey. We are all happy that you have taken the steps needed to LIVE a better life WITH HCM. Some have entered into the world of living with an implantable device, so strange and wonderful that these little boxes can offer such protection, we are glad you are all protected!

Some have just been diagnosed and are living there 1st Christmas with this new knowledge, while nothing has really changed, as the HCM was always there, the knowledge is a great deal to comprehend and I am glad the HCMA was here to help you during this challenging time.

My Christmas wish for all of us is that our wonderful researchers continue in there efforts to help improve our lives and that someday… there will be no more HCM. Reality dictates that my wish is far far far from able to come true…but you can always hope, wish and dream and maybe someday pig will fly.

I hope some Christmas magic finds your home this year!!

From Adam, Becca and myself Happy Holidays and may the New Year bring us ALL good health and much happiness.

    Peace,

    Lisa Salberg

    President

    HCMA

Merry Merry Christmas Lisa and all the other staff at the HCMA. Thanks for your advice and calming words during a frantic time for my family. I truly appreciate your efforts and it is comforting to know you'll be there in the future if I need to call. Madeline is doing great......singing at Orchestra Hall in downtown Chicago as I write this message. I can't exactly believe it myself, but I feel blessed this Christmas.

I cannot put into words how much I appreciate what this organization has done for me this past few months. The first time I called Lisa I was quite nervous and very afraid that I would get the run-around like my "specialist" was giving me. She talked to me like I was an intelligent person and gave me the courage to challenge the doctors. I would say that my life is back to "normal" but Lisa would just pick on me for saying that ! So as Stitch would say "It's good, yeah it's good!"

    Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Lisa, I got a miniature Christmas tree decorated with crystal flying pigs, gold tipped wings, noses and tails. I think I've seen the flying pig you got, but it wasn't from me. I couldn't find one and my sister wouldn't let me have hers to give you. Merry Christmas! Thanks to all participants on the message board for the help, love, and support they give one another. It really is contagious, look what you started, Lisa! Linda

All your good wishes for me and my family paid off on Christmas in a BIG way... My niece and nephew (Stacey and John) were in a car accident while on the way to see their fathers family. Thank God that nobody was hurt (just the car...big deal!) It was a very strange Christmas day here in NJ...but by 8pm we were all playing some of the new games Santa gave Becca...

Thank you all for all your kind words and well wishes... I do feel they all paid off.

    Happy New Year to all!!

Ya know what you should be singing right! "I'm having a tropical Christmas" We're gonna go and decorate the palm tree" Or at least that is what we do in Florida. If we want to see snow we go to the Magic Kingdom! No ice there! Lisa I hope all is well with your family and keep up the awesome work1
