The AHA does not financially support the HCMA. They provide very little funding for HCM research and they are not in any way connected to the HCMA. Donations to the HCMA can be made by sending them directly to the HCMA, we have no connection to the program this poster is posting about.

    Sincerely.

Whoever The Motley Fool is, if you are for real, I would never do business with an activity that would try to advertise by "spamming" a patient support group message board. How low can you get?

FYI: The Motley Fool is a pair of guys who have struck it rich giving investment advice. We have asked them to refrain from this type of behavior.

FYI2: The new message board will allow us to remove these kinds of things.

    Thanks,

    S

I know both young men personally and they are fine, compassionate people. They were also rich to begin with. They made a serious mistake in judgment by coming into the web site, but that is no reason to malign them personally.

    Dear Faith,

Despite my error on when they made/received their money, I don't believe I've personally maligned them in any way. What they did was inappropriate and we have told them so.

    Faith:

I think they owe the HCMA a formal appology on the message board for using the HCMA message board to promote their business. A donation to the HCMA would be in line too since they just used HCMA resources to advertise for their own personal financial gain.

I have made no personal statements against the individuals who own the company and would not. I have emailed them privately and asked them not to post here again, with this type of information. I do believe that they will comply. I do not believe they meant any harm, I think it was just poor judgement.

Should they post again I will address the matter with the management of the company.

Faith, if you know these people personally I may call on you to speak to them should we have any further postings of this type.

The chances are slim that a member of management made this posting, it was likely someone who thought they were doing something good.

    Sincerely,

    Lisa

I'd be happy to talk to them anytime. They are great young men. I think your assessment is absolutely correct. Thanks, Lisa.

....the Motley Fool can certainly make you exactly that....A Fool.

I lost a bunch of money from 'advice' or 'tips' generated from their website. To those of you inclined to use their services, Be Careful!

    Dear Judd,

While I appreciate your intent here, this is off-topic and I would ask that we avoid getting into a discussion about The Motley Fools or their web site.

We encourage our members to connect with each other off-line or in private e-mail about whatever matters they choose. However, this board is only for discussing HCM and HCM-related matters. The Motley Fool's ad was not posted with our permission and we have addressed that issue. However, I'm sure you understand that their error does not entitle us to have a discussion about them or their services.

I think the best thing for everyone is to consider this thread "Closed."

    Thanks,

    Your Board Moderator, Sarah
