    [Internet Access at Cleveland Clinic]

    Hello Susan,

You mentioned in your post that you "won¡¦t have access to a computer as of Mon."; I wanted to let you know that one of the great things about CCF is that you will be able to access a computer almost anywhere on campus. They provide TONS of computers for use by both patients and visitors.

For those people traveling to Cleveland, here are my suggestions for maintaining contact to the outside world:

    1. Become familiar with the Cleveland Clinic website ( http://www.clevelandclinic.org/ ).

    2. Create a login to the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center website ( http://www.clevelandclinic.org/heartcenter/ ). You will need this login to access the internet from the public computers on the first floor.

    3. Once logged into this site, click on the link to the left of that page for "TheStatus.com". Create a status page here so you can update friends and family as to your status throughout your stay in Cleveland. Once setup, you will be provided an ID and Password to distribute to your friends and family so they can access your page ( http://www.thestatus.com/ ). You can even upload pictures! You can also place a link to the HCMA Forums if you want ļ .

    4. When in the lobby and waiting areas, you can then use the public kiosk terminals to access the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center page where you can login to access your Status Page. Remember to update often!

    5. When you are finally admitted, there will be a computer reserved for patients to use on the same floor as your room which has full access to the internet. There, you can access your email as well as the status page.

I will be happy to assist anyone further with this process if needed by contacting me directly at the email address above.

    Thanks, Tim
