    [Update on Family]

    Author: Amy N. (---.tnt3.seymour.in.da.uu.net)

My dad went back to the cardiologist today. After four months the doctor did say that the family has hyptertropic cardiomyopathy without obstruction. They were given a paper written by Dr. Maron from Minn. (My mom tells me all this that the doctor had told them today - as if it would be news to me. Not news, just confirmation.) The cardiologist wanted mom and dad to give me a copy of the paper because there is a lot of misleading info out their on the web. I guess I need to get the info from HCMA to take to my next appointment. So he knows what type of information I'm reading. I told my mom that the author of the paper was one of the medical advisors for the message board I read. My dad goes back for a stress test in February.

    Dear Amy,

Yes, this is an excellent opportunity for youto show the cardiologist that not all of the info on the web is misleading!!!

I would encourage him to read this board personally.

    Take care,

    S

Amy - There is some bad info on the web about HCM...some that makes me nuts! That is why I have such good advisors to keep up current and accurate... Funny thing is that the dr's did not know your dad had HCM until we spoke and lead them down the path... I guess maybe I do know something

Good news in the sense that we know your dad is doing well and you are doing so well too.

    Lisa
