    [Financial assistance]

    Author: Tisha (202.73.169.---)

Hi! I'm from the Philippines and I have a friend who has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Her mother and 2 siblings also have it but they have since passed away. She was advised by doctors here to undergo surgery to implant some device (I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with the type of device). It would cost about US$28,000 which is way way beyond her family's financial capability. Her father is retired and her remaining sibling (the only one with no HC) is still looking for a job. We are trying to help out by writing and asking around if there are institutions that offer this kind of financial assistance for medical purposes. We hope you could help us. Thank you.

    Dear Tisha,

Please have this family call the HCMA at 973-983-7429. There is no easy answer that we could just put up here for you. I am so sorry for their losses.
