[Symptom after ICD implant]

I had my ICD/pacemaker put in on Mon. last week and the incision sight is feeling much better now, but yesterday I noticed my throat and my breast bone are hurting. I don't know what to think. It's kind of a throbbing pain and is worse when I try to take a deep breath. I wondered if I've strained the muscles because yesterday when I'd try to yawn or take a deep breath, I would cut it off, because it hurt my incision site. I'm not running a fever or anything. I really don't want to go back to the dr., but if it's not better soon, I think I'm going to have to.......Has anyone else experienced this??
Heather

Heather,
I had my ablation and ICD implanted a little over 2 weeks ago and I am still
having pain, swelling etc. During the implant the Dr. really used a lot pressure
which left a lot of bruising but with each passing day it is better. Hopefully your,s
will be also as long as you don,t suspect infection. Hang in there! Glad your trip was successful. Take care. Janis

Dear Heather,
You should just give them a call and make you aren't having anything out of the ordinary.
take care,
S

Heather..dont be silly call the doctor it may be nothing but you want to be safe (thats the whole reason you got the device right?) CALL and ask them what they think, they may want you to get an X-Ray to make sure the leads are in proper placement...
PLEASE be careful.... Better safe then sorry...
