    Okay, so I had planned to teach in Morelia Summer of 2009--did that summer of 2007-and canceled after my daughter's and husband's diagnoses--thought it wouldn't be a good idea ( she doesn't yet have an ICD and won't, I hope, for another few years.....so did I make a mistake? I was worried about medical, defibs, hospitals etc (even though we have an ICD) and here you all are heading south!

      Just returned from Mexico. My husband felt great the whole time. Took his meds correctly, ate well, drank a small amounts of alcohol, and walked a lot. The warm weather was nice and easy for him to breathe also. The food is not salty, pretty bland really, everything is pretty fresh and not processed, so I think it worked out well. We both only gained a pound while there. So, since this trip went so well (1st since the diagnosis) we will be planning another one next year!

        Our trip was wonderful as well! I agree with the food being freshly prepared, not too much salt, so no ill effects from any of that! I gained 3 lbs. and DH gained 6. So, a little work to do now! It was like a dream there! We hope to return some day soon!
        Heather, 43, non-obstructive HCM, dx'd at age 14, AICD implanted 11-02, PVAI ablation done for a-fib and a-flutter 5-2010. 2nd PVAI done for a-flutter and a-tach 3-2014. 3rd PVAI for a-flutter June 2015, dr forgot to reset ICD settings and I went into vt and almost died, July 2015, July 2015-started tx work up, October 2015, put on list in Dallas and tx'd on November 14, 2015.
