    Non-HCM Good News (for a change)

    As most of you know by now, we lost our son to HCM in 2006. He had a great life and left behind about a ZILLION friends. Everyone loved Mark and his legacy is the love he gave to others.

    Well, this past weekend my daughter and I attended a baby shower for the wife of one of Mark's friends...SHE IS EXPECTING TRIPLETS!!!

    She told me at the shower that one of the boys will have the middle name of MARK after my son. I was so honored for Mark. He would have been busting his buttons with pride and at the same time razzing his good friend who will be going from having no kids to having a house full in just about 6 weeks.

    My entire family was very touched, and my daughter in law said, "Guess which one will be our favorite!"

    Isn't that a lovely gesture? If this yet-to-be-born young boy grows up to be half the man my boy was, he'll have life by the horns!

          I am sure that Mark will keep an eye on all of the children... but I seem to think that Mark will keep a special eye on Mark - his little angel.

          Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
          lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
          Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
          Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
          Currently not obstructed
          Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)
