Our school district does not have a male teacher K thru 6th grade! He really is needed in that area! Great choice, and I am sure he will be a great teacher!
After working in a school district for a little over 10 years, I saw first hand how elementary children need a supportive teacher. They rely on their teacher in so many ways. Such as getting a compliment, a hug, and making them laugh which some don't get at home. You wouldn't believe what this means to a child.
Hi,
In December my nephew, John, graduated from college with his degree in elementary education. Yesterday he got his first job as a 4th grade teacher! He will finish the school year for a teacher going out on maternity leave. This position is in one of the best school districts in NJ - Westfield (a bit of a drive but thats OK!). This is a wonderful opportunity for him and I am very proud of his accomplishment!
I also know that my sister would be bursting with pride. Since Lori died we have a little saying with John and Stacey (MIAWY- Mom is always with You!), I know Lori was with John as he entered adulthood with his first job in his chosen field. I can see her smile from here.
I am so very proud of John, not only for getting this position but for his choice of career - he wants to teach elementary education, an area that is lacking in male teachers. I know John will be a wonderful role model for hundreds of children.
This ends the bragging of today - stay tuned to this station for future episodes of "Proud Aunt Lisa"
