  • Off to China

    Hi, all,
Just a quick note to say we are off to China in about 30 hours. Unfortunately, the trip is also due to last about 30 hours with 4 planes, the longest and most yet. Also, unfortunately, I am wheezing and swelling, so CHF seems to be back for the first time since the week of my Dad's funeral a few weeks ago. I know I am trying to see too many people and get too many things done. It is hard for me to say "no" to people who want one last visit before we leave. A week ago we had three groups of unrelated friends staying with us from out of town, including one former student from China. She is pretty much dependent on us for rides and helping her get settled here, but she will be on her own by Saturday.

Next time I write, it will be from Beijing, I expect!

    Safe trip and happy landings.

Hopefully that swelling will go away when you settle down and stop overdoing. It’s good that you both can go back together, and not at two different times.

I expect you’ll have a very interesting year teaching out of your specialty, but knowing you, you will do an excellent job.

Let us know how you are once you get back to your home away from home.

You have a safe trip, take care of yourself, and try not to overdo it too much. Be sure to drop us a line when you get there (and have recovered from your trip), to let us know how you are doing.

      Happy trails!
