  • Kids Life Insurance

    Good Morning everyone,

I am a long time member here, however I have been absent for many years. I had a myectomy / Valve repair in 2005 and since then have been generally doing well. A few speed bumps along the way... but nothing that stopped me yet!! I am now at a stage where my kids are 8 & 10. I met with an insurance agent recently to discuss insurance and currently have a quote for Whole life insurance for the kids on my desk, with a guaranteed $100K increase at age 25, 30, 35, 40 - if they choose to purchase it. On one had, looking at my situation, I know I cannot get insurance and this should be a no brainer - buy it for them and be done. On the other hand, I am trying to justify the expense/benefit for down the line

    My questions are:

What is the general opinion on this topic for us HCM folks?
More importantly, Is anyone aware of a kids term life policy. This should be more cost effective. I am looking to buy insurance - not invest with a whole life vehicle? I cannot seem to find one or information on one anywhere

Lastly is anyone aware of a company that would underwrite Insurance for people (Adults) with this condition. Employer sponsored plan is not an option at this time for me. I have tried all the regular companies with no luck!

    Thanks everyone
