A co-worker who knows I have a heart condition was out yesterday. I had heard her cat was sick and I inquired with her when she returned today. She gave me a play-by-play of the doctor visit, echos, Lasix, CHF, isolation bed and cardiology specialists. Yes, it was touch and go there, and the doctor said, if it was him, he'd put it down. But She and her husband wanted to wait a bit longer to see how'd he'd respond to the treatment. I asked if it was HCM and she said YES! How'd yo know?!
"I have it too" was all I could muster.
Sadly, I think she has a new appreciation of what I've been through. . .
P.S. Chester is home and doing much better.

      Re: Feline HCM

A good while back a vet mentioned HCM as a possibility for our (now sadly departed) cat Bart. I told her I have it; she hesitated and then asked to listen to my heart. How could I say no?
