  • Cost of Eccocardiographs??

I wasn't quite sure where to put this.....but, it is a very fascinating article about the cost of an eccocardiograph....which averages $5,200 at small hospitals in New Jersey and $1,300 at first tier teaching hospitals in Boston....rather interesting. Here is the link..http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/16/he...T.nav=top-news

    Re: Cost of Eccocardiographs??

Interesting. We had a similar thread here before as the LA Times ran an article outlining what regional hospitals here charge for cash customers, what they charge insurance companies and what what Medicare reimburses them on various tests. Its truly a whacked out system we have!

I am sure in canada the cost if known would be very high.
I know when Americans see Dr's here they ain't happy.

To show the difference, I've flown to Minnesota, had a hotel for 2 days and 2 days of testing at Mayo and it all cost less then a single echo at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles.
