JillC RN for over 40 years, MS degree in Respiratory Nursing, Worked surgical open-heart ICU for 18 years in Chicago.. After years of symptoms finally diagnosed with HOCM in 2006. I retired from nursing 2012 due to HCM and had septal myectomy at Local hospital 2013, Redo myectomy Mayo Clinic 2014. Now doing well. Find out more about JillC

    Happy Thanks Giving!

    To all of you who celebrate....I wish you a beautiful holiday this week...I don't know about you, but beside Divinity, friends and family....I am very thankful for the education and support I have received from this forum. Also I am particularly thankful for the Cardiologists and CV Surgeons who have taken the time to become specialists in HCM and set standards of excellence for others to follow .... AND because of those specialists for the first time in years, I can eat Thanksgiving dinner without it being followed by two hours of chest pain!!!

    Well we can all complain if we want, but I'm choosing to give thanks for everything that I have, including the turkey dinner ! I agree with you Jill, I'm thankful for the life I was given back as a result of all of those involved with my medical care over the years. I too have much to be thankful for.

        A very Happy Thanksgiving to all....I am certainly going to enjoy this one..........I am going into my third week post surgery and am back to work full time, etc.....the only thing that is a bit odd is I keep staring at the way the turkey is held back together once the stuffing is added.
