  • Humidity is Bad?

    Hey all,

I have HCM and treat it with calcium channel blockers. Since starting treatment the symptoms have been really good and in almost all cases non existent unless I go really hard.

For almost 4 months since diagnosis and starting treatment life has been good. But that changed when coming to Thailand for a holiday.

Our first destination was by the ocean and it is quite humid. My symptoms have been brutal - chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness etc. these symptoms worsen after I eat a meal or when even carrying the slightest extra weight.

Now we have moved to Bangkok where it isn’t humid but it is quite warm. The symptoms still flare up but nowhere near the extent they were in the first location. I imagine this is due to the heat.

So my main question is; do HCM symptoms worsen in humid/tropical environments and/or around large masses of salt water? If so, should I be avoiding these places?
