Hello all! I recently had an appt and echo w/ my local cardiologist. I am planning a visit to Mayo this summer. My dr. here said all looks good. My questions are it says:
1. Preserved left ventricular function, EF at the lower limits of normal, around 50-60%, w/ mild asymmetric left hypertrophy. What does the preserved left ventricular function and asymmetric left hypertrophy mean?
2 Carotids 2+ and pulses 2+, what does this mean?
3. My left atrium is at 4.8, which is what it has been for quite awhile, which it says normal is 1.9-4, so is that too bad??
One thing that I am very happy about is that my pulmonary pressures are normal at 28mmHg, while in the past they were very high. High pulmonary pressures are what kept my father from getting a heart transplant, which has been a long time fear of mine to follow in the same direction.
Thanks for input and comments!
