  • Please Pray for Beverly

    Hi folks,

Beverly was admitted to the hospital on Monday for pneumonia-like symptoms, and the subsequent x-rays showed that her transplanted heart had enlarged significantly. Since then things have happened very quickly. She is currently in status 3B organ rejection and listed in critical condition. Her transplanted heart is beginning to fail. Her doctors are working around the clock to stabilize her with the hope that they can reverse the damage.

At this point its one day at a time. Please pray for her.

So sad to see that Beverly is having problems. Please forgive me for not remembering, but how long ago was her transplant?
I certainly will include Beverly in my prayers. Please keep us posted.

                          Update:

Things are beginning to stabilize, she's stopped getting worse. Today is a better day than yesterday.

Now we just need to chain a few of these together. We're not out of the woods yet. She'll be in ICU for awhile.

We continue to ask for prayer.

The Docs mentioned today that young females (Bev is 29) tend to get hit harder than most when rejection comes, and that often times things will turn around. The fact is, everyone who elects to have a heart transplant will experience rejection at some point. People sometimes forget that a person is basically trading one disease for another, although anyone who's had a transplant will tell you that a lifetime of medication to control the second disease (rejection) is worth the trade off.

If anyone is interested in learning more about cellular rejection you can read at the link below.

                              Steve
I, as well as others, have joined together at 12:00 today to pray for Beverly. I usually say my prayers at night and included Beverly then as well. As a fellow heart transplant recipient I feel close to others that have had the need for transplant. Please know that Beverly will be included in my nightly prayers.

                              God Bless
