  • I'm being placed on the transplant list

The transplant team at Columbia Presbyterian advised me they are placing me on the transplant list. I spent all of Monday getting scanned and poked. Next week I go back to meet with the surgeons, psychiatrist, financial advisors and social workers. They will give me a final approval in the coming weeks.
I've been attending twice monthly support group meetings at CP for the last 16 months. It's been helpful meeting others who are faced with the same challenges. So patients have made remarkable recoveries. One woman in particular rides her bicycle 15 miles round trip to her follow up clinic appts.
My symptoms started 11 years ago. With each passing year I've been declining. But I still can't believe this is happening.
