  • Has anyone here been transplanted at Columbia Presbyterian NYC.

    Hello,
I had my initial consult at Columbia and all went as expected. I am going to have another right sided cath in a few weeks and the team is going to speak with Dr M Maron about my history. I don't know if I will qualify for listing at this time, but they want me to start getting prepared. I had an echo and blood work. The labs were drawn to see if I need any booster shots. Checking for things like Hepatitis and chicken pox ect.
I was sent home with a book on the transplant program, that I read already and passed it along to my family to read. I've been encouraged to start attending Support group meetings at Columbia twice per month.

I never asked my question, Sorry. Has anyone been transplanted at Columbia and if so, how was your experience?

Michael - Transplant is a pretty rare event in HCM. I don't recall anyone posting their experience at Columbia. I wonder if there is a similar board or group for transplant patients and perhaps they have some folks who had hearts done at Columbia. I'd look into it. Also, attending your twice a month meetings may be helpful.
