  • Started my search for a Transplant Center.

I started my search for a Transplant Center over the last few weeks. I'm in the very early stages. After my last VO2 test results of 16 with Dr. Maron, he advised me it was time to seek out a surgeon.
I had an initial visit with Dr. Zucker from Newark Beth Israel last week. Very nice man. He would like me to have another right sided cath and speak with Dr. Maron again before he makes a decision about going ahead with full eval. I will see him again in the office on Nov 12th.
This Wednesday I am meeting Dr. Latif for the first time at Columbia Presbyterian NYC.
I really think they are going to tell me it's not time to get listed but I think its smart to start an affiliation with a transplant team.

Ed and I had a great evening visiting with a recent heart transplant patient on Friday. My friends Dad suffered a massive MI last year, coded in the ER and on the cath table. He got an LVAD and then a heart one year later. He is doing great.
