Hey hows it all going ?

So i had my two year check up about 4 weeks ago and my ecgo was different then my normal ecgo so i went home for a week but they wonted to go back up (we only have one transplant hospital in NZ)in a week for a biopsy to check for some rejection

So i went back up in a week for a biopsy and the doctor told me that they where looking for chronic rejection but i would have to wait for results man did that freak me out at least with rejection you can get rid of it , results come back and it wasn't that thank goodness i did have server rejection but i could live with that better then chronic so i had my 3 days IV treatment got to go home for two weeks then had to go back up for another biopsy to make sure it had all gone got results back today there still mild rejection but they can fix it with a bit of drugs so got to go home today.

In NZ after the first year in less there any issue they don't do biopsy's after the first year and do check ups ever 6 months in less there any issue so after all this i thought about it if i hadn't had my 2 year check up and they didn't see my echo's were different they wouldn't have picked up on the rejection as i had no symptoms at all so i could have been sitting in rejection for months and wouldn't have known about have to say that makes me a bit worried but at the same time im sure they know what there doing .
Whats it like for all you guys over seas do they stop biopsy after the first year like New Zealand ??

        Re: Rejection

Margi, glad it got caught. I had biopsies up till I passed the 5 yr mark. I then skipped a year but had one in March. I may have to have one in 2 weeks as my white blood count has dropped quite low. My echo is good though but I am SOB. I blame it on heat and humidity not sure the doctor is buying that. That being said we need to be our own advocate to keep track of our health. So glad you are doing so well

          Midge,

Just catching up on some old posts and saw your note about your white blood count dropping low. I hope all is well with you.
