      Congratulations on that new birthday. I cannot believe out of ICU so fast. Good for you. Your biopsy will be a breeze for you. Keep blowing in your little plastic thing. Again Congrats.God Bless the donor.

              I can't tell you how happy I am for you! My granddaughter, Sara, had her transplant in March, and it was five days before she got out of the ICU! But I can tell you, that 5 1/2 months since her transplant and she is doing so well you'd never know she was ever sick! Good luck to you going forward. I'll be honest...I don't think I would have survived a wait as long as yours. Sara only waited 2 months! Do what the docs say, and get your recovery on the right path! Best of luck.

                Diagnosed at 31.
                Cardiac Arrest 2003, RF Ablation in AZ, no positive result -
                First ICD 2003 - In 2006 lead went bad, abandoned lead, threaded new one & new generator
                Myectomy 5-5-05 at The Cleveland Clinic - Dr. Lever & Dr. Smedira -heart surgeon.
                Currently have Grade 2 Diastolic Dysfunction with pulmonary hypertension & pulmonary edema.
                My brother passed away suddenly at 34 yrs old from HCM.
                2 teenage children, ages 17 and 15.

                    Went into Atrial fibrillation so had a ICD put in at 16
                    Went into Heart failure at 17
                    Got a heart transplant at 21(2009)
