Alright, this may sound odd, but under my myectomy star, I have a small bump that sticks out. The tip is white. The whole star is very hard and tender. But the bump that sticks out is very troublsome. It is very sensitive and when I bump it against something or someone it hurts. I think I am going to get it checked out, but is this common? Will it go away soon?

Daniel,
It is common to get little bumps and such along the incision. In addition to that, I've had the occasional cyst form in the incision that were a bit tender and painful when touched, just like a big ol' zit. These eventually come to the surface and do their thing (i.e. drain). My dermatologist said that this was all normal, and much more common in men than women since we have more hair folicles on our chests. It's been almost a year since my myectomy now, and I still get these from time to time. My doc says that incisions are considered 'fresh' and prone to these types of things for about 18 months after surgery.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if it continues to be bothersome by all means contact your doctor.

Thanks for the explanation Jim - I also have little bumps under my scar. They are quite sore and if I press it turns white. The bump sticks up out of my skin depending on my position.

I went to the doctor---they took some X-rays and said that one of the wires was sticking out a bit and pushing the skin forward and that is what the bump is. They said they could fix it, but if I don't it is no big deal. So im just gunna let it be.
