  • Myectomy at St Lukes in NY

Has anyone had a myecotmy done at St Luke's in NY?

I know that is where Dr Sherrid is located and that he has a great reputation for treating HCM patients; however I haven't come across any post regarding a myectomy at St Lukes; according to their website they are considered a HCM Specialty Center. I live in Phoenix AZ. and received a referral by my insurance company to see Dr Sherrid in NY. the request submitted also contained the Cleveland Clinic however St. Luke's is where I received the approval. I do have family in NY so that will make things easier, especially if I end up getting a myectomy there. The overwhelming consensus seems to be to not have a myectomy in Phoenix and Cleveland seems to be the specialty center of choice. However, I would really be interested in hearing about patients myectomy experience at St. Luke's.

It is a good center and they have had good outcomes. I would start with the consult, see how you feel about the center and see how your family feels and make your final choice. I think you would be in good hands in NYC.
