Bennett,
On our website in the treatment section you can click on "See your options for Septal Reduction Here" and it will bring you to a page from the Cleveland Clinic with a video that will explain what they do for a myectomy.
Also within the message boards you can do a search of myectomy and read all the postingst that have to do with it.
If we can be of any further help, just let me know.

Hi again Bennett,
By all means check out everything you can, but also bear in mind that a myectomy may not be the answer in your particular case. If you check out myectomies and decide that it very well deserves further discussion, please turn to your cardiologist and discuss with him why he thinks transplant is the answer in your case. Just possibly your heart muscle may be too stiff to support a successful myectomy – causing you to face two major operations instead of one.
Myectomy might just be your answer – but then again it may not. Please be excruciatingly thorough in your investigation – and get as many medical opinions as you can, before you decide which way to jump. It’s a tough go any way you cut it – but if you make sure which is the right way for you personally – then you have the best chance of success – and that’s the bottom line – isn’t it?
I in no way mean to be a wet blanket, but I want you to be absolutely sure which way is best in your case. I too would like to see you achieve the best result possible.

Take a pen and paper in with you to your doctors office and have your questions ready for them, i did and it got the ball rolling sort of speaking i was put in the hospital and had several test run including another heart cath, you see i had a myectomy 10 months ago and with them not knowing that my right side was stiff (my ventricle), i'm now going on the transplant list, I had a right and a left sided heart cath and a cat scan of my chest and another Echo with the dobutimine, now i'm told not to do anything that would make me sweat so i don't stress the heart so much, but to tell you the truth i'm sweating just typing this letter to you, i hope things turn out for you and if you need anything just send a PM and i will get right back with you
