  • Alcohol ablation scheduled

After many many tests and doctor appointments, my husband and I have decided to go ahead with the Alcohol ablation. Lisa has been so helpful in finding a good doctor that was closer to me. This website is awesome with so much information and friendship.

The procedure is scheduled for Tues morning at Methodist Hosp in Houston. My kids are coming in to be with me and I feel like God has
been taking care of me in this time. I do have a peace about this but
dread the procedure. I would like to hear from some people that
have been through it so I would know exactly what is going to happen.
I'm a huge wimp. They said they want me awake but will they give
something for pain at some time????? How long does it hurt? What
should I expect over the next few days? The thought that I might
feel better is awesome. Someone mentioned not being able to walk across Wal-mart.......oh my goodness, its been so long since I could do that.
Thank you all so much for the support of this website. I hope you know how much it has meant to me.

Martha, I wish you all the best, please keep us posted as to how things are going. I know you will get some answers soon from others who have had the procedure. Linda

      Hi Martha
I have never had this procedure, although I have had a myectomy twice. You are in my prayers. Please keep us informed of your recovery.

            Hi Martha,

I read where your A/A went beautfully and how wonderful you feel. Jan 2003 I had my Septal Ablation done MUSC in Charleston S.C. I have felt like a new person ever since. I'm still bugged by the PVC's and once in a while "Black Spell", but other wise my life has changed so much for the better. I wish you continued success.

P.S. ....That was the first thing I noticed, was I could breath deep again after it was done.
