Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
Currently not obstructed
Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)
It's been 3 weeks today since my myectomy. I do my exercises and take my walks everyday. I keep getting better everyday. Make sure Jim does what he is told, that is the only way to recover. Please keep us posted. My prayers are with Jim and all his family....

Full term pregnancy - Son born 11/01
ICD implanted 2/03; generator replaced 2/2005 and 2/2012
Myectomy 8/11/06 - Joe Dearani - Mayo Clinic.
Got word this evening. Jim made it through the surgery just fine, is in ICU and everything went well. There were some delays, as always, but so far so good. Thanks everyone for your prayers and good wishes, the family really appreciates your support.
That's really good news. All is looking like a positive outcome.

Laura... Great news. Hope everything is still goig well. Get him up and walking as soon as possible. That is what my wife did. As much as I wanted to stay in bed, She nagged me and nagged me till I got up.
