  • Cardiac Rehab Program

I entered a Cardiac Rehab program at Mass. General last week and am starting a regimen to help me with diet, exercise and stress reduction...got on the treadmill last week for 40 minutes and learning how to push myself up to some conditioning. No pain on exercise...only when I am bent over and or stressed out. Have to be very conscious of emotional stress throughout the day. But, very happy with procedure. I have a lot of things going on including recovery from alcohol abuse, post traumatic stress and other personal pressures. The stress thing is my biggest enemy right now.

My gradient was about 75 and is now hovering around 25 or so...we will get an echo done soon to see how the thickness is doing but they tell me it is much quieter...the murmur that is. My cardiogram looks different to me...that after bump is gone.

Back at work and going at full tilt. I do tire on occasion...but nothing like before when I could not drive to work without stopping to nap!

    Peace to all.

Alcohol ablation January, 2004. Stent placed, September, 2003. Now...at age 53...working out, building a cabin, sober and clean. A 2nd chance at life. There is hope, there is a future. Have faith.
