      Hello Jack,
I see from your profile that you are in your 20s and live in Egypt....is that correct? I have no knowledge of the health care system in Egypt. How did they diagnose your HCM and is there a reason you are asking about myectomy? Have they suggested that you need one?
Many cardiologists, even in western countries are not well educated about HCM and mainstream therapies with medications before surgery. When myectomy is indicated it is usually a very successful surgery and in general one is able to do more with less fatigue and chest pain than they could do before the surgery. However, that does not mean every person with HCM who feels tired andas chest pain is a candidate for myectomy!!! Committing to open heart surgery is a very big commitment and should not be taken lightly. Especially if you are unable to go to a hospital where they are specifically trained in the procedure.
      After years of symptoms:
      Officially Diagnosed HOCM 2006
      Myectomy 3/11/13 at non-COE
      Extended Myectomy 7/23/14
At Mayo with Dr. Joseph Dearani
