Well, I've decided to have an ablation done since my AFIB has been increasingly happening more often. I'm scheduled for March 10 at Tufts in Boston. I'm both anxious and nervous...

Re: Upcoming ablation
Cynthia, are you having a septal alcohol ablation to thin down your septum or an ablation to try and stop the arrythmia? Please let me know because I am considering a septal alcohol ablation due to many fainting spells (and arrythmias) myself. This disease is getting out of hand these days. Sure wish I lived up north somewhere with the good medical centers.

Re: Upcoming ablation
She is having an RF ablation for the arrythmia.
Cynthia my best to you... I believe you are in excellent hands and you are also confident of those who have helped you reach this decision. In your situation it has become necessary to try this procedure. Here's hoping they can successfully ablate the little buggers that are giving you trouble.

Re: Upcoming ablation
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT! I could not have endured these past 6 years without the support and advice of everyone on this wonderful board. Kathryn, to answer your question....it is an ablation to (hopefully) fix the arrythmias.\"It is not length of life, but depth of life.\"

Cynthia,
As you know, I am almost four years-free of afibs after three rf ablations. May your decision have as good an outcome as mine did. Keep us posted; and, you can PM me anytime you wish.
