    Vioxx

    I heard on the news this morning that now they say that Vioxx could possibly cause heart problems after taking it for 5 months! I had my first
    "problem" should I say, exactly 5 months after starting Vioxx....it was fluid build up but my former cardiologist at the time said she couldn't be certain what caused it since my heart was functioning well. I had never had one previously and not one since I've been off of Vioxx --- got the episode in November 2002 and they took me off Vioxx on Dec. 6, 2002 when I went for an echo. I think it was too coincidental that this occured after being on Vioxx. Has anyone else taken Vioxx???

    Cynthia, yes I did for 1 years before I stopped when they took it off the market.
    I had no effects from it.
    I am now taking Celebrex, but they are now making noise about that so I will have to discuss this with my doctor next time I go back to see if there are any altrenatives to this.
    Every great thing that has ever happened since the beginning of time has started as a single thought in someones mind.

      you're lucky you didn't ! Personally, I'm staying away from any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory....considering what has been in the news. I take a pain medication occasionally for osteoarthritis in my hand.
