Pam, (and All)
It is interesting that you brought up the CoQ10 issue in your post.
I started taking CoQ10 back in May of last year when i first started taking the Atenolol. My specialist advised against it, simply because there isn't enough data on CoQ10 to support the cost. But having an intrinsic distrust of all doctors, i decided to take it anyway. What i found was that after a couple of weeks, i was feeling absolutely fantastic. However, i never knew for sure whether it was actually the CoQ10 that made me feel so good, or if it was simply that the new beta-blocker (Atenolol) was doing the trick.
Recently, i've been in the poorhouse and can no longer afford the CoQ10. Let's face it... when you have twenty bucks in your pocket and are faced with the choice of buying a month's worth of macaroni and cheese or a bottle of CoQ10... you go for the mac and cheese. But now i'm beginning to wonder if stopping the CoQ10 suddenly hasn't caused my sudden increase in symptoms. I've read where that can be the case... even if CoQ10 doesn't directly help your symptoms, stopping it suddenly can sometimes exacerbate them.
I really wish that somebody would, once and for all, do a legitimate study on CoQ10. To my knowledge, none has been performed to date.
