how does a doctor determine if you could be "over medicated" on a beta blocker....I'm wondering what symptoms you would have for not enough meds or too much?

Re: Overmedicated
Cynthia, two that come to mind are slow heart rate (also referred to as Bradycardia) and low blood pressure.
I have a very slow heart rate in the low 50s and often below 50.
I have switched beta blockers and have taken a lower doseage, but my rate is still too slow.
The next step for me maybe a pacemaker.Every great thing that has ever happened since the beginning of time has started as a single thought in someones mind.
So if you are capable of thought then you are capable of great things
Good luck and stay well.

Re: Overmedicated
thanks, Glen,
had my bp taken and pulse taken a month ago (yearly physical) and the doctor didn't say anything about it. The nurse said my bp was good. I've been getting a lot of (what feel like) premature beats and had a tach episode early this a.m. I'll wait to see what the specialist says\"It is not length of life, but depth of life.\"
