Just a reminder to all of us HCM'ers be sure and get a flu shot. It is highly reccomended for anyone with chronic illnesses. We do not need influenza on top of HCM.

Thanks for the reminder Midge... it's good advice. I got mine on thursday here at the university. There's so many places now that offer it for free or at a substantially reduced cost, there's no reason not to get one

Most local drugstores (the major chains, Walgreens, Osco, CVS, etc) offer free flu shots till mid-November so hurry!! Visit the web site of your favorite chain and search for flu shots to find a schedule.
My doctor's office charges $30 if you pay up front (down from 50 if they bill you).
Yearly "Flu" shots are free in Ontario as are "Pneumo 23" - Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine - which can be gotten at the same time and only needs to be repeated once every 7 years.
