  • Cymbalta and HCM?

My son started taking Cymbalta a couple months ago. About two weeks after that he experienced and episode of extreme chest pain and since then has felt weak and tired.

Mayo clinic reports a relationship between Cymbalta and heart palpitations, arrhythmia, and tachycardia ... but not weakness.

We've taken him to two different cardiologists but as of yet we don't know anything. The fist changed his beta blocker and upped the dosage.

We're trying to get him into the Stanford Cardiology HCM clinic ... but they're booked out for three months. They're seeing what they can do to work him in earlier.

    A worried dad.

Has his doctor thought about switching to another medication? If you tell Stanford why you want to get in they might be able to work you in earlier than 3 months.

    Husband has HCM.
    3 kids - ages 23, 21, & 19. All presently clear of HCM.

I can understand your concern. I agree with Reenie - talk to the prescribing doctor about the change in your son since the start of the cymbalta - I hope they are able to get an appt for you earlier.
