    Memorial Service

    About a month ago I let you all know how my cousin died very unexpectedly. This past weekend I was in FL to help conduct the memorial service.

    It was very sad to see my uncle and aunt bury their last child. All three have now pre-deceased them. On the other hand we had some great time together and it felt so good to be able to encourage them, love them, and listen to them tell stories of Mariesa (my cousin).

    I have never led in a funeral/memorial of a close relative in that way so it was a stretch for me emotionally, but in spite of the difficulty, this was a positive weekend (not counting Delta Airlines, missed connecting flights, and winding up the the wrong city on the way home - but that's a story for another time).

      I'm sorry for the circumstances, but I'm glad that you were able to spend some time reconnecting with your family. Your trip sounds like a nightmare, though!

          I can't imagine what it was like for your aunt and uncle to bury their last child, but it surely must have been quite comforting to have you there with them.

              Diagnosed at 31.
              Cardiac Arrest 2003, RF Ablation in AZ, no positive result -
              First ICD 2003 - In 2006 lead went bad, abandoned lead, threaded new one & new generator
              Myectomy 5-5-05 at The Cleveland Clinic - Dr. Lever & Dr. Smedira -heart surgeon.
              Currently have Grade 2 Diastolic Dysfunction with pulmonary hypertension & pulmonary edema.
              My brother passed away suddenly at 34 yrs old from HCM.
              2 teenage children, ages 17 and 15.
