We are leaving this Thursday going to Boston and I have reservations at Tremont and Doubletree. Tremont is not honoring the price the hospital gave me and they are giving me prices of $109 two nights, 119 two nights, and 199 two nights. THey did say when I get there I can speak to the manager and they may or may not honor the $89 price the hospital told me. The Doubletree is 109 each night. They both are pretty close to the hosptial. Just wandering if anyone knows anything about these hotels. I have to cancel one of them today. Thanks, Janet

I got my hotel from priceline, so I went with the better priced hotel.
The doubletree is bigger and has a bigger health club. the tremont
is more of a boutique hotel. WE stayed at the tremont at first because
we found it on hotwire. then when felix had his myectomy I stayed one
night at the doubletree.
I would really suggest that you try hotwire or priceline. go to
www.biddingfortravel.com first. I bet you can get one or the other
or even the hyatt nearby for 50$

I have been to both and like them both. Double Tree has larger rooms - BUT if you ask for a handicap room at the Tremont the rooms are very large and they have several rooms at this size - they are close to the elevator so it helps with limiting the walking (for me anyway).
I have not had a problem in the past with Tremont honoring the price - however they did just change hands - so the new MGT may not be in line with old practices.

Janet,
Why not contact the hospital and see if the nurse can get you the room at the price the hospital has been quoting? Seems to me they would either get you the room at the appropriate price –or change the prices they are quoting.
If they can’t get it for you, you can still go with the cheapest prices you were already quoted – or try the various hotel booking websites – or possibly you might even be able to get a good price through the Entertainment Book – if you have one. (You might even try getting a price break by booking through the airline you are using.)
Good luck,
Burt
