Re: alcohol ablation scheduled tomorrow morning for motherin

    Hi,

I really do not have experience or answers, but I think it would help you get an answer if you let us know where this is being done and whether this was recommended by an HCM specialist.

Meanwhile I will pray that if this will alleviate her problem without creating other problems, that she will be able to have it done and that it will be successful.

    Rhoda

  • alcohol ablation scheduled tomorrow morning for motherinlaw

    Hi All,
My 78 yr old motherinlaw is going in Tues a.m. to have the alcohol septal ablation...for the first (and we hope the last!) time. She is in excellent health (other than hypertension), dancing at least twice a week previously!
My question is: how many out there have had the procedure, at what age, how long ago, and how are you feeling? We were concerned from the beginning of our research with the possibility of a pacemaker, possibly a repeat procedure. She also has been told her vessels are quite small, may not be the best candidate. Plans are to partially anesthetize her to insert catheter and check out the vessels, then either proceed, or send her back home and wait for a myectomy to be scheduled. Any QUICK REPLIES will be greatly appreciated! I will continue checking the board this evening, headed out first thing in the morning....Thanks!
Working...
