    Lisa,

I am so sorry to hear about the possibility of your dd having HCM. However, she could not ask for a more knowledgeable mother than you when it comes to this disease, Lisa. She is in good hands. Our thoughts are with you and yours at this time.

Lisa, you have helped us all with your wisdom and kind words. It is now our turn to comfort you. As the others have said, I hope Becca has a very mild case. It is much easier to deal with this disease when it's you and not your kids. I would give anything for my children not to have this. When we were at the Mayo with Brandon and had his defibrillator implanted, we had Tyler age 8 checked also. They informed me that even though he was still negative, his heart was not relaxing like it should and that it would most likely to develop into HCM. I was heartbroken. Anyway know that you are in my thoughts and prayers always. Please keep us informed. Thanks

Lisa, I am sending all the best thoughts and wish for you, Becca and the family. I hope she will test clear and this was just a strange thing. But, She has a great mom that has been through this and is a great person to talk to.

I am sorry that you have to now be the mom of an hcmer, I have not had to cross that bridge. I hope that I don't. I hope that for all of us that are in the same spot with our kids.

Have a good day and remember to give Becca a hug from all of us on the board.

    Dear Lisa,
I just got home from LA late this evening, but I couldn’t go to bed without wishing you and Becca the best outcome possible. May G-d treat you both as you treat us. A little quid-pro-quo would certainly not be amiss.

For Becca’s sake, I will do charity.

    Lisa,

Know my prayers are with you and little Becca. She's a strong kid I knew that from the day I met her at NEMC. Take care of your family first if there is anything you need we are here for you. You have helped us so much with this forum and the special attention you give to us in our times of need.

    Dear Lisa & Becca,
You are both wonderful people that have a great outlook on life! I admire all that you do for other's Lisa and now you can hold Becca in the circle of great education, information, support, love and care through the HCMA. We are very lucky and honored to have both of you in the club that no one asked to join. Anyway you look at it, our lives are blessed by the lives of those that passed before us and paved the way to your wonderful organization!

I wish all the best to Becca and the care that she will receive from this group, the affiliated specialists, and all the care givers along the way. The HCMA was created in honor of her Aunt Lori and to help others that must walk this journey!! There is still a lot of fun life left in all of us and part of the HCMA support is sharing in all different parts of our lives. Thanks to everyone for making this group so wonderful and supportive.

    Keep a smiling girlfriends!
    Love,
    Sharon

    Lisa,

Now you get a glimpse of my world. Every 6 months we wait to see if it is worse or the same. I really understand your feelings. I cannot sympathize with being the "one" with HCM since that is not my role, but I can understand the mom role since both my kids are in the "club". Not as easy to deal with it when its the kids as compared to it being you. I can tell you how it worries me more when my kids say "my heart is racing" or "my heart hurts" than me having GERD or a heart dysrhymmia myself. I know you understand.

Take it one day at a time and try not to worry too much. Becca sounds a lot like her mom and is wise beyond her years. I found my kids are very resiliant (sp?) as Becca is showing you.

Thank you all for your support.

Becca has been an amazing kids who was sent to this family at a time we all needed something pretty amazing. She was born 1 month after my sister died. She has a wonderful attitude and is a really great kid all around.

First, please give Becca a BIG hug from me. She shows such strength, it must come from you.
I pray that the test results show no major changes and courage and faith that you have as much strength for Becca as you have shown here for each and every one of us. Becca is your main concern and I know you will do everything possible to make the future as painless as possible. May God keep you and your family in his loving hands.
    HUGS
