  • Winners at the HCMA Annual Meeting

    Hi Everyone!
We are all learning a lot and making some great new friends at the HCMA Annual Meeting. The morning sessions have ended and the afternoon sessions have just started. Our lunch break with a panel of doctors (both Dr. Maron's included) brought some great questions to the floor.

We did have a raffle with cool prizes. My mother (Edna Patterson) hand made some afgans with the letters HCMA and red & white butterflys & hearts. What great prizes that two of our members were able to secure for their comfort. I am sure my mother can be commissioned to make more as fundraiser items for your area. Anyone interested can contact me through the board or my web-site. Plus, Dr. Marty Maron won a power drill....hmmm, will he be using that in the office....I hope he gets certified before he plugs it in! Now I hear Dr. Maron donated the prize to another doctor (probably a surgeon).

There was a 50 / 50 drawing and the total pot was $600. The winner of 50% of the pot donated the full amount back to the HCMA. What can you do to help support our message board, the helpfulness of this support group, and the continuation of the HCMA? Please consider the HCMA when you work in your communities. There are many ways to bring awareness to HCM and educate the public on this condition. As well as allowing funding to be brought back into the HCMA for their continued existance. We are here to help each one of you learn and improve your quality of life.

Continue to send good thoughts our way as we learn more and cultivate more friendships.

    Sharon Bates

    Hi Sharon,
Gee whiz – You look great.

I’d write more but I’m driving my granddaughter’s crazy split keyboard computer. (That’s one way to shut me up.)

I envy you all at the conference.

Re: Winners at the HCMA Annual Meeting

You are welcome, Lisa, Adam, Kelly, & all the other hard workers from the conference.

I had a Great Time and got my 50/50 donation back when I was able to select the James Bond DVD Collection as a raffle prize at the golf outing. Thanks goes to our own CYNABURST for her donation -- this is a wonderful addition to my DVD collection. Someday when I have a hot summer weekend (any weekend in Arizona), I will stay indoors with my popcorn & cool drink to enjoy some hot James Bond action movies!!!!

Hmmm, I knew there was a big reason to stick around an help with another wonderful event associated with the HCMA. The golf outing, just like the HCMA Annual Meeting, was a big success. Lynn & Kevin, Kelly, Larry & Ann, Honey & all the HCMA family did a bang up job on a fun, educational and money raising event in honor of Lori and all those that have succumb to HCM.

God Bless all the hard work and workers that support this great cause!

See you all again next year and maybe before that as I offer heart screenings across this great country of ours!
