Re: Help clarify dr. visit
Paula,
May I suggest that you call the HCMA office on Thursday and speak with Lisa. She is an invaluable resource and can answer your questions and offer suggestions on what to do next.
Lisa will be in the office between 9 a.m and 5 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday. We look forward to hearing from you.
Kelly

Re: Help clarify dr. visit
I would want to have an HCM specialist look at his. It is something that may be an issue related to the procedure -- then again it may just be his HCM.

Re: Help clarify dr. visit
Hey Burt,
Yes, the information was helpful. It seems like about the time I take a deep breath and sigh thinking things are smoothing out, something new crops up. I always enjoy your posts, you are very positive and I appreciate that. Thanks, Paula

Re: Help clarify dr. visit
Hi Paula,
Here’s some information for you.
V-tack
http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic2367.htm
AV block
http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic233.htm
Ventricular Tachycardia – V-tack basically means a heart rate of over 120 beats per minute. Although not necessarily the greatest thing in the world, it can usually be controlled by medication.
Atrioventricular block – AV block may be no more then the result of being on a calcium channel blocker or a beta blocker. The doctor certainly seems to be on top of the situation, so unless he says otherwise, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
Hope this is of help to you.
Burt

Help clarify dr. visit
Hello,
Today my husband (diagnosed with HOCM, had alcohol septal ablation last Nov.) went for a pacer check with a new dr. The dr. put on a holter because he said my husband had a few extra heart beats. I asked is this worrisome, he said I don't think so, but I want to see how often this is occurring. As we were checking out, I saw on the encounter form - V-tach and AV block. OK, I know v-tach is not good and I am assuming AV block means some kind of heart block.
Can anyone help clarify? Thanks, PaulaTags: None
