        Re: check out the tattoo!

Let me know what you really think of my tattoo! I love it, it represents part of me. It is also a great conversational piece haha. I have wanted to get a tattoo for a long time but never could find the right one and I think this one fits me best. It took me a long time to actually come up with the design but I love the end result. I know not everyone is a fan of tattoos but this is more than that, it's part of who I am and a wonderful piece of art work.

            Re: check out the tattoo!

Pretty neat looking tattoo. This could help the person trying to hide their AICD scar . It probably should be a stick on though ,huh? I have a friend who dated this guy with one arm missing, He had a tattoo with a dash, dash line around the end near the stump . Above the dash line it said , " Cut Here ".
To each his own I guess.

What does the "7" mean on the ICD? See yours is a two lead model like mine. Sue

Pam in response to your post: Ouch is a good way to put it but it's great to know that it has worked and after the shock it's kind of like a relief. It hurts yes but only for a short time and the benefits far outweigh the downside...obviously. I never thought I would say it but I am happy that I have this life saving device.

                      Gary,
I really like your tattoo! Are you on blood thinners? I amm. I want a tat but figured it wasn't even an options with blood thinners. Plus, could anybody tell me if the whole tattoo idea is bad, infection wise. You know like dental work and all?

                        Re: check out the tattoo!

Hey Steve, I am not on any blood thinners, and as far as infections I had to take an antibiotic before having it done. I checked with my cardiologist before having it done. If you go to a reputable place to get the tattoo done they should have some info for you...not much but some as far as blood thinners. Just remember these are permanent make sure you think about what you are going to get. I am sure you already knew that but thats what I kept telling myself right up to the day I got mine.

                        Good luck,
                        Gary

                            this is kinda funny--
we had to do a 50 page portfolio on ourselves for my psych class, and needless to say quite a bit was about HCM. We had to do two pages with pictures and stuff about humor, and i put the picture of your tattoo on it, because in my essay on the humor pages i wrote about how even when stuff sucks you have to be able to be in good spirits about it. everyone who looked at it was like whooooa
