  • My Son's ICD Implant

    Hello everyone


    Just to let everyone know my son got his ICD today and is doing fine....... he recieved a ST. Judes ICD, he was a little nervous but is doing great now

    Diagnosed 2003
    Myectomy 2-23-2004
    Husband: Ken
    Son: John diagnosed 2004
    Daughter: Janet (free of HCM)

    Grandchildren: Drew 15,Aaron 13,Karen 9,Connor 9

        That is great news As his mom you must feel a sense of relief ,knowing he has this added protection. I hope he is soon feeling 100%.
        I take it that you are better today ? I am sorry I got a little panicy for you last night.Too much caffeine on my part. ,makes me get scared.

          I'm glad to hear your son has the protection he may need. How old is your son? I can understand him being a little nervous, I was, too. I think it's the unknown.

                  Know just what you mean Shirley - My baby is forty. (Where the h**l did all the time go?) My big girl (she's small) is somewhat older. - - The grandkids are already driving - - Think I'll go take another nap!

                        I am glad to hear his ICD is in - I am sure this make you feel better ... and I hope it is a positive experience for him too!

                        YOU can make a difference - all you have to do is try!

                        Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
                        lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
                        Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
                        Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
                        Currently not obstructed
                        Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)
