  • Defibrillator for 5-year old son went well

I just wanted to write to say that my son's defibrillator surgery at Mayo when great. They were concerned about him being so small and finding a place to put the defibrillator, but it fit the first place the tried and the leads went right in. I owe this to the angels watching over him and the many prayers. He started Kindergarten today just one week after the implant. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers.

        Kay,

I'm so happy to hear that the implant went well! I know that you were anxious about the procedure, so you must be quite relieved that things went so smoothly. Thanks for posting to let us know how it went.

        Take care,

I am so glad to hear that everything went well for your son. I have been going to the Mayo Clinic for a little over 4 years now and I think they are great! Trust me, your son is in good hands when he is at the Mayo Clinic.
Thank you for keeping us updated on your son.

Thanks to all for your thoughts. Yes he is still doing well. Sometimes too well as he was trying to do somersaults off the couch last night with his arm still in a sling. Boys! I tell ya. Anyway, he has a follow up here in St. Louis September 9. I'll let you know how that goes.
