  • finally got a defibrillator

    Hi All,
I am new here. I just had a defibrillator implanted on July 1 and am not doing to well. I have a blood clot slowing down the recovery. My fault.

It took me over two years to get and I now can go to sleep not having to wonder if I will wake up.

My brother had I.H.S.S. and died from sudden death in 1989. I was dx with I.H.S.S. in 2000 at age 48. (whoops gave my age away) and went into denial.

Confirmed by the experts this year. So I had a reality check and finally got the defibrillator.

I live with many other medical conditions that can't be fixed. At least now I no longer have to worry about the ticker not ticking without notice. I just cannot believe I was so foolish for so long and tormenting myself.

Having the implant was an immediate stress reliever when you live with I.H.S.S., for anyone hesitating of getting one, don't hesitate just get it!

My doctor took the control from me, and made me sign the consent form. I was blessed when he did that he took away all my fears and anxieties and gave me a sudden calm about having this done. I owe my doctor for that one.

    Thanks for listening to me.
