  • Boston Scientific Advisory

We sometimes don't see other areas of the HCMA site, but Lisa posted this and I'm copying it here for any Boston Scientific folks.

    Diagnosed @ 48
Saw Dr. Michael Debakey @ age 5 - "He's fine, just a little noisy"
Father to 3 boys 22, 25, 29 (all currently clear - pending genetics)
AICD - Valentines Day '08, Spark Plug replaced 11/14
After much research, I had a Myectomy @ Mayo for my 50th Birthday '08
    Quietly going insane . . .

My model was on the list but I checked the serial number and it said my specific ICD was not part of the advisory. Relief!

My device was on the list, in fact had 3 advisories. I spoke with BS directly and they advised me to go for an interrogation within next 3 months and ensure that they upgrade software. I don't think I will need replacement. Phew!

        Re: Boston Scientific Advisory

After three days of badgering my mother to call Boston Scientific, she did and found she had the model, but not the serial number. They were extremely nice to her and they recommended that she talk to her person at the device clinic to make sure the person reading her ICD was using the most current version of the software and Boston Scientific gave the version numbers to my mom. Very happy they relieved any fears we all had.
